Coming Saturday Dec 1, 2012 at 4pm: The Lighting of Breckenridge, Colorado! New for this year: the kid’s Reindeer Race! Then, the Race of the Santas, followed by the lighting of the town tree.

Over 100 Santas race up and down Main Street as a fund-raiser for Adopt an Angel, helping families in need. Followed by cocoa, cookies, and caroling at the Red, White & Blue Fire Station. Then, the processional to the Blue River Plaza, with Santa in his horse-drawn carriage, escorted by dozens of Bernese Mountain Dogs and hundreds of townsfolk. And finally, the lighting of the Town Tree!

Breckenridge’s annual Oktoberfest, in mid-September, includes a fun-filled weekend of fall foliage, great parties, Paulaner Bier, genuine German cuisine, collectable steins and rides for the kids.
