4th of July in Breckenridge 2019

The 4th of July is one of our favorite events in Breckenridge. Our town just shines!!

Fireworks, BBQ cookouts, and all things red, white, and blue – it’s beginning to look a lot like the 4th of July! Breckenridge Colorado is one of the most fun places in the U.S. to celebrate America’s favorite holiday. From backyard cookouts to full-blown firework shows, Breckenridge has plenty of activities planned to celebrate this national holiday. Here are our favorite 4th of July celebrations in Breckenridge that you can enjoy with your family this year.

Parades

4th of July in Breckenridge 2019

One of our favorites is the parade in Breckenridge. It is so fun to see your friends, neighbors, and local businesses going down the street waving to everybody. We love the small town feel. Some years there are more than 35,000 people joining in on the fun!

If you don’t see what you are looking for in Breckenridge, you can also check out the celebrations in Frisco, Dillon, Silverthorne, Keystone and Copper Mountain. One of the great things about being in Summit County and owning property here, is that there are always so many fun activities in the surrounding towns. You can’t do them all! Believe me I have tried.

Parties

Fourth of July in Breckenridge 2019

Most importantly, we have a huge party at our office at ReMax. 220 S. Main St!!! 9:00 am to 12 noon. It is a great spot to watch the parade. Come by for food, drink and front row seats. Just tell them you are working with us, Roger and Teresa Moen.

National Repertory Orchestra

4th of july NRO

The National Repertory Orchestra, a symphonic orchestra and academy that offers fellowships to young musicians that are interested in professional music careers, does a concert before the fireworks. They do a fantastic job every year. (Teresa says: “It just makes me cry every time!”)

Before moving to Breck 23 years ago, I had never been in a small town. I really just fell in love with the community and the gorgeous landscape. This is the place to be for Fourth of July. I am so proud of this town and feel fortunate to be here everyday.

Check out this link for more activities on the 4th of July.

Why We Love Summer in Breckenridge

Summit Activities in Breckenridge

In Breckenridge, we have a saying that we use to describe our area. “I came for the skiing, but I stayed for the summers.” Yes, Breckenridge is an international ski resort. That is what it is known for and has been for many years. And the skiing is some of the best in the world.

But in the past decade or so, we have also seen a huge influx of tourism descending upon us in the summer months. Everybody is catching on that the summer here in Breckenridge is outstanding!! We now have people that come to bike, hike, paddle board, camp, attend music festivals and parades, mountain bike, etc, etc. No longer is summer the slow season.

The Activities

The town of Breck puts on many activities that you and your family will love. GoBreck.com, the local tourism office, hosts arts festivals, beer and wine tasting events, concerts and two classical orchestras to name a few. The best place to find out what to do here in the summer is www.gobreck.com. They will list all the upcoming events.

We also have a new Backstage Theater with great live performances.

Family Adventure Park

Vail Resorts put $9,000,000 in to the family fun adventure park a couple of years ago. Vail did extensive research to substantiate their major renovations to Peak 8 for this park. This is good news for all property owners. There is much construction going on here in the Breckenridge summers. Lots of construction means a healthy market.

So Much To Do

What to Do in Summer in Breck

The good news beside the fun to be had here in Breck: if you don’t find something you like, then you can go to Dillon for some free outdoor concerts on the lake or a great Farmer’s Market in the summer. Silverthorne, Keystone, and Frisco all have great activities. We sell properties in all of them!!

If you are a homeowner in Breck, or looking to buy in Breck, this is great news for your family to have all these activities to enjoy. If you are an investment-minded person, then the benefit to you is that a few years ago the summer rentals were minimal and if you made a few dollars that was a bonus. Now it is a substantial amount to add onto your yearly rental income. As the summer income builds, so does your repeat business on your investment property.

Breckenridge summers are a must-see. It is a whole different feeling. Give us a call to see what Breckenridge summers have to offer!

Skiing Options for Everyone – Downhill & Cross-Country

Christmas Breckenridge Colorado

Breckenridge Ski Resort is at the heart of the Town of Breckenridge and offers world-class skiing and snowboarding. Whether you’re a beginner or comfortable on double black diamonds, you’ll have a great time on the mountain. Go to the Breckenridge Ski Resort website for information about passes, equipment rental and lessons for children or adults.

If downhill isn’t your speed, consider strapping on some cross-country skis. The Breckenridge Nordic Center offers lessons and miles of groomed trails. You can also explore nearby Cucumber Gulch Preserve on cross-country skis or snowshoes.

Shopping & Après Shopping

Main Street Breckenridge is heaven for shoppers, especially during the Christmas season. You’ll find boutiques and outlets with clothing, jewelry and accessories for men, women and children; toy and candy shops for the young and young at heart; and top outdoor retailers for ski and snowboard jackets, pants, helmets and goggles. When you’re done shopping for anything you may need for winter recreation – or jewelry, art and leather goods if you’re more of an indoor person – check out Breckenridge’s breweries, wineries and happy hour scene.

Eat, Drink and Be Merry!

Breckenridge has a lot of great restaurants and bars. Carve out a little time for happy hour on a heated patio or hot beverages by the fireplace during your holiday vacation in Breckenridge. Be sure to make reservations early if you want to eat out on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Breckenridge in the middle of Summer

Typically we are extremely busy in the summer for buyers purchasing their second home or investment properties in Breckenridge. This summer is no different. In fact, our inventory is low and currently I have more buyers than active listings to choose from. What a great problem to have if you compare it to previous years. Also, Breckenridge is the most crowded I have ever seen this time of year. People are discovering that Breckenridge is a full year round destination. Our summers are extraordinary. We have added the Pro Bike Challenge which can bring up to 100,000 people to witness what is our “Tour de France” also we have an Art Festival with a new Art District here in Breckenridge and it has proven to be a real attraction. We even had the “Cirque Du Soleil” folks come and perform. So don’t forget we are not just a skiing town but all year fun. Oh hey, by the way if you want to sell any property in Breckenridge you know who to call.
