Christmas In Breckenridge

December events include The Lighting of Breckenridge and the town tree; Santa’s processional down Main Street; Santa’s appearance at RE/MAX; and the snow, shops, scenery and skiing! Not to mention the New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade down Peak 9 at around 6pm, and fireworks on the ski hill at around 9pm.

Racing Santas & Lighting of Breckenridge

Coming Saturday Dec 1, 2012 at 4pm: The Lighting of Breckenridge, Colorado! New for this year: the kid’s Reindeer Race! Then, the Race of the Santas, followed by the lighting of the town tree.

Over 100 Santas race up and down Main Street as a fund-raiser for Adopt an Angel, helping families in need. Followed by cocoa, cookies, and caroling at the Red, White & Blue Fire Station. Then, the processional to the Blue River Plaza, with Santa in his horse-drawn carriage, escorted by dozens of Bernese Mountain Dogs and hundreds of townsfolk. And finally, the lighting of the Town Tree!

Thanksgiving 2008 Huge Snowfall

Guess what: four years ago for Thanksgiving, we had huge snowfall! The skiing was fantastic.

November 30th, 2008 we got over a foot of snow at our house! We live a few miles outside of downtown Breckenridge, Colorado, near the National Forest. Our elevation is 10,700.
